This amazing video will open your eyes to some of the children of Africa. It will break your heart. Then go and watch Blood Diamond and see what it is all about. That was what moved my husband to adopt.
They are CHILDREN not soldiers.
This summer our family started on a journey towards fulfilling a dream that we have all shared for a long time. A little girl. A daughter. A sister.
Addis Ababa |
Please pray: We need the government to agree to give us back our overpayment. This would probably nearly cover our outrageous flight fees in August. To the tune of $16,000 for 4 out and six people returning.
PRAISES:
~ We had an amazingly fast court date: 5 weeks!! The girls are ours!
~ Our referral WAS a quick one!! It was 3 months, 30 days! We were referred two girls: 4 1/2 & 3 1/2.
~ The medical can now be begun at referral, rather than at court date, thereby shortening our 'time til travel by 2-3 months' after court date!!
~ Our file has gone to Ethiopia - St. Nicholas Day!
~ Our homestudy is complete and approved!
~ Cassidy got the part of Randolph in the musical Bye Bye Birdie, after sacrificing his television/movie auditions trips for the adoption.
~We have been so blessed by the kindness of all our friends in caring for our children while we have been at seminars and meetings.
~Our social worker is a really nice lady.
~Due to no comments stating the opposite I can only assume that our financial situation is acceptable to everyone.
~We received an adoption grant of $10,000!
~Our social worker will complete our homestudy over the next two weeks!! We are moving forward!!
~Our financial needs are being met abundantly.
~We have been very blessed by gifts from friends and family lately.
~Our accountant's letter was approved by Kidslink!
~ We heard that our income is not taken into account when approving us for adoption with the Kidslink adoption agency.
~Praising that Courtney got into ISEBR before Sept. 3.
~We had the pleasure of meeting another Ethiopian adoption family that lives in our province!
~ We made friends with a kind Ethiopian man who will have his son take us around Addis Ababa, Ethiopia!
~ We don't need to wait for Ministry Approval as our agency can give this approval!! One less step involved!!
~We received a $750 mystery cheque from the government!
~ Our medical exams & tests came back free of problems!
~ Our physicals are only going to cost $200, instead of nearer $1000 for forms, exam, and tests!
~ Huge Praise!! Through dear friends of ours, God has met some more of our needs! Thank you!!!!
~ Babysitters lined up for the Seminars!!!
~ Criminal check in England not necessary - one less hoop!
~ We did great at our garage sale - we made $255
~ Ray has an abundance of work right now!!
~ Our lawyer has not charged us a penny for his services!

Justine, thank you so much for your comment and your encouragement, I am not quite sure what got into me when I read that persons blog but it certainly did a number on my heart!!
I had already heard about kidslinks program, when I phoned them they said what program and then ohhh well that is a pilot program and it is full, she said they can't accept any new families until they are liscenced in Zambia and she didn't know how long that would take. They said they would phone me when it happened
sooo we will see. Thanks so much for the info though!!
I sponsered a child through World Vision from Thailand too! Since I was 16, she is all grown up now but your right there is so much we can do if we have a willing spirit!
Thanks again Justine I really appreciate your friendship, I am home this week so maybe we could get together for coffee or somthing
