T Minus 5 Days
So why am I a day late in posting this? Because my day yesterday was insane!!!
I can barely remember what I did, because I have again, done so much today! Each day is running into the next. *smile*
I know I got up and fed my kids (I did feed them, I think?! LOL!!) By 9:30 I was out of here. I headed to "Grammas" to drop off Austin's bag of church clothes and goodies. Treats that I bought for him to do while at my parents. Rusty has her grandsons living with her, so he will have plenty to do there, but my parents house is a lot quieter!
I visited there for a while. I couldn't help but share the http://www.audiblekids.com/ site with her. She was taken; she'll be signing!! LOL!! I knew it. Once you see it, you are hooked!
Then I headed to a friend's house to pick up a donation. I had no idea how much it would be for. Can you imagine my surprise when I saw the cheque for $500!!! God is so good!! Let me show you how it works:
1) I begin getting nervous about being responsible for all this cash. Will I be able to find the 'right place that we are to buy supplies for? I basically start thinking God should stop the money flow! Truly!
2) I begin to pray for direction as to where we are to give.
3) The next day, I get peace.
4) The next day, I get an email from Sandi stating her sister has just opened an orphanage in the same town our daughters came from!! What *better* place to be able to bless with all this giving that our own little girl's village!!!
5) The following days I get donations in the amount of $1000 and then $500. It was almost like God waited til I trusted Him to tell me where this money was to go before He sent the heavy rollers! Praise God!!!
We are now so pumped at the fact that we get the privilege of being the first people to see these new children and this beginning orphanage. God is good!! Ray is hoping to build benches, shelves, beds for these children. We have talked to them about bringing in wood, supplies, and tools. They say that they can. We will have about three days to do as much as we can.
Pray that Ray can come up with a simple plan, as it is not simple to throw a set of bunkbeds together!!!! You need a *very* easy, quick plan that is strong.
We have books, puzzles, art supplies, school supplies, educational toys, soccer balls, skipping ropes, vitamins, medicine, hair clips, headbands, real homeschooling language arts for early grades books, the Draw Write Now series 0f art books - where the children learn to draw a very simple, yet artistic drawing and then write about the picture. These are on different learning themes like The Arctic, Farm Animals, Native Americans, The Sahara etc. It is so exciting!
So back to the day. *smile*
I then headed to my friend, Erin's house. We were going there so that Briton could get used to being there so when I left him it wouldn't be so hard. The funny thing is that while I was visiting he went down the hall to the room where he knew the dollhouse was. He played in there and later, when I was in the room, he said something to me and patted the bed.
I was amazed. He was indicating to me that he was going to sleep in the bed! I know this, of course, because I always clarify with questions what he is trying to say. So this is great. It shows me he really understands and was even able to figure out where he might be sleeping! I wonder if it might be me that has the harder time leaving him, than him leaving us! *smile*
From there, we ran into town and did about 12 different stops. By the time I finished the errands it was too late to make dinner, so I swung by Save On Foods and ran in and bought three pizzas and a tub of iceceam. Great healthy meal!! LOL! When I got home Cassidy informed me that in 1 hour we had to be back in town for soccer evaluations! Whoa! We ran int the door, threw the pizza in the oven, answered some phone messages and then headed out again to soccer.
I met up with some mums and after soccer we all sat down at the park and gabbed as our children ran around playing for an hour. Back home, bathed the kids, and tucked them into bed. THEN I began my 'other' work!
Such as photocopying all our legal documents for the girls adoption, passports, airline ticket, contact phone numbers etc. etc. And then printing out more pictures of little ones whose parents want photos of them. That one I totally get, as I was majorly blessed by those that were able to take pictures for us.
By the time that was all done I decided to work on the girls' video. The one that you all saw back in May. I have been editting it with all the new photos and such. So I will post it right before I leave, so you can see it. It is different from before. By the time I got that done it was 1:00am! Crazy!! But I KNOW what I am like. I will want to do a new video from when we leave forward, so I had to finish the first one first! Just who I am. *smile*
After I got to bed I knew that as I lay there falling asleep that I would remember things to put on my 'to do' list for the next day, so I crept back downstairs and got a pen and paper and lay down again. There are *so many* loose ends to tie up when you are crossing the world to bring home two children, leaving four other children in all different directions, organizing donations to take to various places, planning building projects while you are gone, visiting a sponsor child, yada yada!
So there I was lying in the dark with my pen in my right hand and my hand resting on my notepaper and as I drifted off to sleep things crossed my mind and I wrote them down for the next day. *smile*
