T Minus 6 Days

This was one of those days where I didn't get dressed or do my hair until I *had to* at 4:15pm!! And only at that time because I had to go to the store to get some potatoes for dinner, plus I knew I had three packages waiting at the post office! So what did I do with my day!? How about a list.

Made multiple phone calls: people wanting to know how to follow the blog, another arranging for a donation pick up, accountants regarding the GST.

Speaking of GST. I almost cried when I got off the phone. I was so disheartened!! It was THREE MONTHS AGO that they discovered this error. For the first month they told me they were working on the Income Tax files for customers. Then it moved onto being being they had to finish the year end GST reports for customers. That was to the end of July. I figured I was safe giving them til the middle of August. Silly me.

I called them this morning and she said, "It's sitting on the pile.' YEAH, I KNOW THAT!!! How about DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! I felt like yelling. But I didn't. As I said to her, "Yes, and soon it will be you doing the quarterly GST report again, and then it will be the Year ends and then the Taxes. I am at your mercy. I have no choice but to wait for you."

She knew I was not happy. I was not mad. I was just plain discouraged. How much longer?!! And I am not taking the files and doing anything as it is beyond my understanding and with my life right now, I just can't fit it in!!!!!!

So I wait. I can only pray and believe that God will release that money when He sees fit and I can also only believe that He must have something wonderful in mind for that money, and so He doesn't want to release it for me to spend it right now. There - let's try positive thinking. :o)

After my calls:
  • I had to write up a paper for each child for each of their caregivers with medical numbers, phone numbers of all other caregivers, our emergency numbers etc etc.
  • Gather dvds for the girls.
  • Find a picture of the girls and our family to show while we are away.
  • Do the books for the family and business- that allow is a 1/2 day job!
  • Write a number of emails.
  • Print out all the pictures of all the little children that I have been asked to get pictures of.
  • Email and ask friends/family to take photos/video at the airport. I sure hope someone does!
  • Reenroll my one son in a distance ed program.
  • Figure out a new camera that had to replace the one that my son broke. How did he break it you ask? Well, first he dropped it off a table. Then when we saw that it was only half crippled and could sometimes take pictures, he decided to put it in his pants pocket and then put the pants in the laundry. The *thunking* alerted us to the camera issue. Dead camera. New camera. And not Mama paying that bill! But at least he has a camera that he can use in Africa! *smile*
  • Wash and pack more clothes.
  • Address envelopes for our girls' birthmum. Our hope is to put stamps on them all, so she can write to us and not have to pay the postage.

On top of all this, I had to pretend I was taking care of my children. *grin* It is a good thing that my children are so well trained!! They can make breakfast, lunch and dinner with little assistance!

Then at the tail end of my day I had to throw on some clothes and head to the post office. There were not three, but SIX packages in the post office. I stood there nervously waiting for her to bring me the packages when I handed her the six cards. I was dreading how much weight it would all be. I am down to the END of my last suitcase space.

Thankfully, when she came out she had only two packages to go to Ethiopia, and they were lightweight ones. I shall squeeze them in. And if necessary, one of my boys will squeeze them into their suitcase - oops, I mean hand luggage. *grin*

As I got back in the car and the kids saw all the packages, they asked what they were. I replied, "Packages for Ethiopia." Cooper, 5, replied, "Not more packages! There's no room in your suitcase." LOL! I guess he has been around a bit to hear me 'working the suitcases'!! Smile. But don't worry, parents of little ones, all of your packages are safely in my suitcases.

Well, that's it folks!

Tomorrow's list entails at least *eighteen* stops in town. Can you imagine. And I thought I was almost done!
