T Minus 2 Days

Another busy day. Mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, finishing ironing, sweeping, kids mowing lawns, cleaning up the yard, washing out the refrigerator, figuring out the kids dvd player etc etc.

A friend told me something amazing tonight. Remember when I was struggling so hard with whether I waited for Colt to come home from camp, to go and get the girls? I decided to wait. I just felt it was so important that our kids had a life changing experience in Ethiopia.

God's timing is perfect. My friend pointed out the fact that if I had gone earlier then our boys and we would have missed the opening of the FAYA Orphanage!! God is so amazing. He knew how important this was for me - my boys being involved in 'something' in Ethiopia. He didn't just have 'something' in mind; He had something huge in mind!! Helping an orphanage begin!

So if I had not listened to my heart we would have missed this incredible blessing!! Thank you, Sharla, for pointing this out to me today!

Finally, at about 3:00 pm I took a break and took the kids to the lake. We have done so little of this fun this summer. We were away for a month and then life got crazy with kids going in different directions. It was a nice break! Hopefully we can do it when the girls are here and hopefully before the weather breaks!

This little bay is on the edge of our lake. This lake is only a two minute drive from our house. It is so quiet and beautiful. Next summer I plan to spend lots of time there!
Enjoy the pictures!

My 'plan' was to enjoy the beginning of a book, so that I would know I wanted to read it on our trip. I can't believe how little I got read - 2 pages. Between kids wanting water or chips, or help with this or Briton trying to fill his water cup with the sand and then asking for water to be put in it. Yada yada. Suffice it to say, I realize the beach is not somewhere to relax and read. But it was nice to watch the children having so much fun!

Big Brother, Dane, was at work and we came by to take him for a swim break. He didn't have his boogie board so he snuck off with Cassidy's.

Cassidy tried to get it back but couldn't swim fast enough. He took off running around the cove to the other side, where Dane was near a rock edge. He wasn't fast enough and Dane was off and moving again.

Hi Justine,
I have been keeping up with your blog and looking forward to your and your families anticipation of bringing home the girls.
I thought about you and your family this morning and thought...She has been so busy running errands, booking this, doing that, I wonder if she has had much time to spend with her boys....(especially before you go)...and I said a simple prayer that you would be able to spend some down time and viola I come to your blog today (Sunday) and you guys were able to go to the lake/beach How awesome is that!!

I pray that your trip is safe, your kids are safe while your away and your return is safe and quick.

Hugs,
Sheila

Hey Justine!

I just wanted to say I hope your time in Africa is amazing! I can't wait to meet your girls when you come home. (after everyone has time to settle and get to know eachother of course) We'll have to take a stroll around the block and have a play date. I know Alden and Willow would love it!

Our love and prayers are with you guys!
